Alejandra is a Mexican designer who merges 3d printing with traditional ceramic techniques. Her practice creates a dialogue between heritage and technology, celebrating the organic irregularities that occur when bringing together human and machine-made processes. Resulting in individual, un-repeatable objects.
Alejandra's work is deeply rooted in her love for nature, a passion that has been enriched by her experience as a scuba diver. These activities have heightened her sensitivity to the environment and deepened her connection to the natural world. This profound sense of closeness is evident in her MA dissertation, "A Glimpse Beneath," where she aimed to shed light on the challenges coral reefs face due to global warming. Her strong interest in color and detail is also showcased in her explorations of glaze and texture, further highlighting her meticulous approach to design.
